Are you a BIPOC artist, cultural organizer, or community member in the greater Seattle area with a vision for a cultural space you'd like to bring to life?
 

Applications are now open for the 2027 Build Art Space Equitably (BASE) cohort!

Join a 9-month, in-person certification program exploring the intersection of commercial real estate, community development, and the arts. Through hands-on learning, site visits, and conversations with local leaders, participants gain the knowledge, resources, and connections to create, grow, and sustain cultural spaces.

Participant Support & Compensation
BASE participants are compensated $30 per hour for their participation in the program. Catered meals are provided at every in-person session, and additional support for expenses such as childcare and transportation may be available through reimbursement.
 

Program Details:

• Application Deadline: Friday, November 13, 2026, at 10:00 PM PST

• Program Dates: January 27 – August 25, 2027

• Sessions: Last Wednesday of each month, 5:30–8:00 PM

• Location: Various cultural spaces throughout Seattle

• Graduation: Wednesday, September 15, 2027
